I am so excited that FBC Dothan is hosting an adoption information meeting tomorrow night. This meeting is sponsored by Lifeline Children’s Services and will be conducted by Sherry Starling. Here are the pertinent details you need to know:
Where: In the Chapel at FBC Dothan
When: Tuesday, December 10th
Time: 6:00 pm
Who should attend: Anyone! Whether you are single or married, casually considering adoption or are one step away from filling out an application, this meeting is for you!
Sherry will give overviews of both domestic and international adoptions. Some of the topics Sherry will discuss include the countries Lifeline partners with, estimated costs of adoption, and age requirements. She will of course be open to answering any questions attendees may have about the process.
For those of you who have been reading my blog for a while, you’ll remember that Sherry is the social worker who did our homestudy and now does our post adoption interviews. We love Sherry, and if for no other reason, y’all should come out just to meet her! And for those of you on the fence about attending, please don’t make Sherry drive all the way from Troy for nothing! 🙂
I will also be speaking on behalf of Forever Families Foundation about adoption grants. I know money is a huge factor for most families in the decision to adopt. But I am here to tell you that if God calls you to it, He will fund it. Jeremy and I are proof of that!
Please know that attending this meeting does not obligate you to proceed with the adoption process. Our hope is to provide couples with the information needed to make an informed decision. Also, please know that you can attend without your spouse. Some of you ladies feel a huge tug at your heart about adoption and your husbands just aren’t there yet. That’s ok. Jeremy and I were there too. I felt the call for months before he did. Thankfully, he did agree to attend one of these meetings in Birmingham with me. If your hubby isn’t on board yet, don’t pressure him and just come on by yourself. 🙂
If you have any questions, please leave a comment or message me on Facebook. Hope to see some of you tomorrow night!
