Tomorrow night, the Watoto Children’s Choir from Africa will be at First Baptist Church Dothan. I have been beyond excited about this event ever since I learned they were coming. We welcome you to join us for a night you’ll not soon forget. And did I mention it’s absolutely free? But you will have the opportunity to support this minsitry through the love offering we will take. The concert starts at 6:00, but you’ll want to come early for a good seat.
If you can’t make it to FBC, Watoto will be in the Wiregrass area for a few days. The Dothan Eagle has a listing of their performances.
I don’t know much about the Watoto story, but their website is full of information about their history and foundation, purpose, the choir and other projects Watoto is affiliated with.
Here are a couple of stats I found on their site:
- Nearly 11 million children die before their 5th birthday.
- More than 20,000 children have been abducted and forced to be child soliders.
And here is a video about the children entitled The Rescue.
I hope that you will make the decision to join us tomorrow night. Bring your children and invite some friends too!
